Theory Meets Fact

According to a recent interview with SpinRite creator Steve Gibson, the WMF security hole in Windows “was deliberately put in there by some group, we don’t know at what level or how large in Microsoft, that gave them the ability … to silently and secretly run code … to do that on remotely located Windows machines … it had to be deliberate.”

Strong words.

And a great calm, straightforward response by Microsoft’s Stephen Toulouse.

Not bad for a company that “still sucks at security,” in my unbiased opinion.
