That Sure Went Fast

It seems like we just arrived in Bangalore, and now the Office 12 Ascend workshop is already over. But we had a great time here, and I learned a lot about both software development and Indian culture.

Pali and the ISVs surprised us with gifts at the end of the workshop today. Both Patrick and I received Ganesh statues, which will be nice reminders of this experience.

And I feel like I picked up a bunch of new friends here, too. Everyone was so smart and enthusiastic, and — most important of all — they were hilarious. I don’t know if Pali makes that a requirement of the ISVs he recruits, but there was enough sense of humor in this crowd for a group many times larger.

Thanks to all of you for your great attitudes and hospitality!

  2. Thanks for the great program…I found it very useful…

  3. Isaac will like that. He’s a great devotee of Ganesh.

  4. Hey Doug,

Great Photos. Had a nice time at Bangalore and looking forward to a long association. What about my Photo at the Shop and the photo of me handing Lord Ganesh to you?

One day i will send you information on Lord Ganesh. What all does he stand for and what all significance does all his body parts carry. You would be amazed!!!!

Hope you enjoyed Bangalore and not just the Cows on the Streets. I am sure that really is interesting to you. The same thing is found interesting to my cousins who live in the US and whenever they come to India, this is what they take back memories of.

I hope that is not the only memory that you are taking back with you of India.

    :)

  5. Hi Tarun, I’m away from my computer right now but will get you those pictures after I return home. I’m headed to Mysore tomorrow, so should get some photos of more than cows. :-)

  6. Oh Yes.

Mysore - Beautiful Place. It carries a lot of Value in the History of India. A king of Mysore faught with the British and sacrificed his life. Ask about him. Name is Tipu Sultan.

Also while you are there, do go and check out the Vrindavan Gardens. I am sure your camera would be very pleased :-D

  7. I’m off to Mysore in a few minutes, but I found those two photos …

Tarun at the silk shop. I didn’t know he was in this photo when I took it! I just snapped a photo of a colorful silk shop, and then Tarun walked out. Bangalore is such a small town. :-)

Tarun handing me the Ganesh at the end of the Office 12 workshop. Thanks again!
