Road Trip Through India

Megan’s co-worker Ranjit sent us a cool link to his friend Vinoo Samuel’s blog of his road trip through India last year. It’s a beautiful site, great photos and great design.

I enjoyed browsing through the site and seeing the points of overlap between Vinoo’s trip and the trip Mom and I took through India in 1999: Agra, Delhi, Chandigarh, Dharamsala, and Mcleodgunj. We took photos of some of the same sites, such as a graveyard outside Mcleodgunj. (Here’s his photo and here’s mine.)

It’s fun to see people putting their vacations online in well-organized form that lets others experience places they might otherwise never see. In recent years, amateurish blog-style posts have become the rage, but Vinoo’s site has a level of editorial quality and attention to detail that is refreshing. Nice work, Vinoo! (and thanks for the link, Ranjit.)

  1. Hmm - “editorial quality and attention to detail” - I didn’t think you cared about that kind of stuff! :)

  2. It doesn’t always show, but I always care.

  3. Great pictures. When are we going?

  4. Hey you’re welcome Doug, thanks for posting it on your site. It is amazing that you and Vinoo visited the same graveyard in Mcleodgunj. What are the chances? Also, at your wedding when I listened to all the stories about you, the one person who came to mind for me was Vinoo! Vinoo is in Bangalore, so the next time you go, and if you have time, you should get in touch with him. Cheers.
