Beruit Blogger
For a view of the scene in Beruit from the inside, you gotta love EDB’s blog. From dropping Nasrallah in a jar of sulfuric acid to calling the Israeli’s “a dash cunning,” I like her style of war reporting.

Great link - she seems to be a breath of tired cynicism where everyone else is so damned worked up right now.
On a related note, I personally applaud the efforts of CNN to try to get Wolf Blitzer killed - they keep sending him to these terribly violent places, and he keeps coming up for air. I’m becoming convinced that after the Big War, the cockroaches will rule the world and that Wolf Blitzer will cover it.
Seriously, I haven’t seen someone so slobberingly hungry for war on any other station. He seems to thrive on it, all painted with transparent attempts at outward concern. This is a guy who really just loves reporting atrocities - I don’t even know where to start on that.
I’ll be reading EDB every day from here on out, though - she seems to be in the thick of it (the REAL thick of it), and therefore a much more interesting source than Wolf and his fellow hounds. Thanks for the good link!

I agree on Wolf. He first made a name for himself in the Gulf War, covering the carpet-bombing of Baghdad and those POW fighter pilots. At the time, I figured that was a made-up-for-TV name. What a dork.
