UN Speeches
It’s speech season at the General Assembly. So as a service to my readers, here are links to three of the speeches I’ve found most entertaining:

George Bush United States |

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Iran |

Hugo Chavez Venezuela |
Next, starting Friday, we’ll have Ryder Cup coverage. So much good entertainment is scheduled for this week.

Ha! Surely you’re kidding. We have one final golf orgy coming — Tom is coming to town tomorrow evening for about 72 hours of golf, sightseeing, golf, Ryder Cup (after dark only!), golf, and more golf.

It’s interesting to hear about what Egypt’s Jamal Mubarak was saying today — that Egypt is pursuing nuclear power. I heard about this on Juan Cole just now.
It seems inevitable that one of Israel’s enemies will have nukes eventually. I think that’s going to usher in a new era in the Mideast. I’m not sure what it will look like, but things will change when there’s more than one nuclear threat in the region.
