It’s official: November 30

Office 2007 and Vista (and that silly little thing called Exchange) are going to be available for business customers on November 30, with the mainstream launch for consumers coming after the first of the year. Here’s Todd Bishop’s coverage in the Seattle PI.

You may have noticed that things have been a bit quiet here on the personal blog lately. The pace of things at work leading up to the above date may have something to do with that. I’m learning firsthand that shipping a product at Microsoft it works something like this:

  1. Zoinks. This is why Lizzie worries whenever I spend time with you — I end up graphing things I otherwise wouldn’t!

    Sorry — glad to hear it’s coming out, though. Does your workload drop November 30 when the business customers get it, or do you have to keep on cookin’ through the consumer release? In other words, if we (Lizzie and I) can get out there, should we wait until after January?

  3. Tom, you and Lizzie are welcome any time … after December 6! The 11/30 date isn’t actually a big deal for me personally. The date that matters for me is December 6, for reasons I can’t say quite yet.

    Dave, my golf scores follow no trend at all. But I am hoping it rains all through November, since there’s no way I can fit in a round.
