Mahugh.com update

After a couple of weeks of fun and games on the personal blog, I’m about to get buried again in work starting tomorrow. Remember how nice and quiet it was around here back in November? It will be sort of like that, and I’ll be shifting from daily personal-blog posts to daily work-blog posts for a while.

As one final thing to get cleaned up for the new year, I updated the home page of Mahugh.com. For our friends and relatives who are a little unsure of how to deal with web addresses, there are now two big links on the home page that take you straight to the blogs. If you can remember how to spell Mahugh, and then recognize your child’s face (say :-)) and click on it, you’ll be here or there without ever needing to think about slash-slash-tilde-whatever.

  1. Very nice. I like the clean organization of things. Are you coding the column breaks manually, or do you have it doing something fancy?

  2. Manually for now. I waffled a bit on the core concepts and decided to keep things very simple for now until I’m sure of how I want it organized.

One thing I want to experiment with this time around is truly intentional resizing to all common form factors. In other words, the way it looks at 320×240 on a little cell phone or 3000×2000 on a big flat-screen should be the way I want it to look at that resolution, and not just an artifact of some arbitrary design decision.

This page doesn’t live up to that at all yet, but the basic structure (four same-sized divs in a div) will be easy to play with the next time I fit in a weekend CSS session.
