I was walking down my street tonight when someone put their cat out, but he/she seemed so shocked by the cold (about 15 degrees) that I couldn't get him/her to come to me. Seemed a bit cold for a cat, but I assume they knew what they were doing. Our two cats have had several chances (not by design, totally by accident) to blow town, and have stuck around with great and concerted decisiveness. We're flattered, honestly -- it's nice to be preferred over full freedom. Doesn't hurt that we feed them and let them get away with murder, but I like that they apparently notice and appreciate that they have something good going here. Pretty day for it.
