Joy of business travel

I think I’ve posted with that same title before. It’s such a recurring source of joy, business travel.

I’m at Sea-Tac, trying to get to Delhi. I had a nice first-class seat booked on an American flight this morning to O’Hare, but that flight is so delayed now that I wouldn’t make the Delhi connection if I caught it. Now I’m booked into a coach seat on an Alaska flight to O’Hare instead, which if all goes well (and the Alaska flight is already delayed an hour, so who knows) will get me to O’Hare about an hour before I need to be on the plane to Delhi.

What’s going on in Chicago, Tom and Scott? Snowing sideways or something?

Anyway, if you don’t hear from me again, that’s a good sign that the plane took off and I might still get to Delhi late Tuesday night (Tuesday morning in Seattle). Wish me luck …

  1. Yep — it is, in fact, snowing sideways.

Good luck — if you end up stranded, let us know! Here’s hoping you don’t, though — while it would be lovely to see you, the last thing you want to do is be LATE to see the Linux geeks in India.

  2. I take it back. It’s now bright and sunny here. But I’d imagine whatever yuck we had here this morning is now all over the eastern U.S., which will still screw up your ability to fly anywhere. Good luck and Godspeed, Doog Mahugh!

  3. At Ohare, made the connection …

  5. Glad to hear you made it out. As Tom said, the snow blew around quite a bit, but didn’t add up to much.

    Save travels…

  6. Vinod, I tried to get to Bangalore but they couldn’t get me a flight that would work this time. But I may be back to Bangalore soon, and I’ll definitely let you know when I do.

Just got into the room and connected to the internet … more later.
