  1. You appear to be drinking a Golden Margarita. Or an Ultimate? I have those exact glasses, shall I tote them to the family meet?

Looks like you didn’t hurt on your birthday away from home.

Thought the mahugh.com cards were matchbooks at first. And that there may have been some….dark, underlying joke that involved fire…

Big fun—long may it live and multiply.

So, when DO you go home, Hon?

  2. Hi Marsha! I get home a week from Wednesday, but I’ll see your lovely niece in Mexico City before then, this Saturday.

Yeah, those cards have had many interpretations. I go back and forth between wanting to get others made, and thinking they’re perfect.

  3. Happy Birthday!

  4. Hi Doug,
    Happy Birthday!
    It’s a Daiquiry, isn’t it?
    Thomas

  5. Hi Thomas, thanks. It is actually a margarita, although the color seems a bit white. I don’t remember it looking that way in real life … I think I was playing around with white balance at the time or something.

  6. Doug,

I finally was able to get on the internet (I have been having problems with my computer). Looks like you had a nice birthday bash–some interesting looking food on some of your pictures.Mom

  7. OK youngster, Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Dougie (don’t-you-just-hate-that), Happy birthday to you.

And in honor of your birthday (hah!), I finally got my birthday present, or maybe next-Christmas present. There’s a 20%-off sale on American Express Rewards points and that brought a D80 box-only to where I only had to pay a little more for it. Now I need to get up at 4:30am to catch the merchant at their 7:30 edt telephone order service and see if I can upgrade to overnight delivery. Oh boy oh boy, digital envy tipped me over to the dark side. I just hope my lenses work well enough with it.

    Wowza.

  8. Oh man, there goes the neighborhood. Congratulations.

i’m up at 4:30 too, actually. Time to head for Colombia …

  9. Happy birthday kiddo!

Now just get back here and stay in town long enough to go golfing?? The weather is getting nice! =D

  10. I can’t believe you still have those cards! I can’t remember how many years ago I made those for you. But I’m glad to see they have circled the globe a few times, and you still like them. Hope you had a great birthday!
