5:00 at home

I decided to skip out early today and join Megan on the deck for 4th of July Eve. And a lovely evening it is.

Here’s the view at 5:00PM, when I’d normally be settling in for some uninterrupted hours after everyone leaves building 18, or catching a taxi from a workshop back to a hotel, or sitting on a plane to somewhere …

I’m on the deck, posting this on my laptop, while trying to convince Megan to order dinner from the place she orders from when I’m out of town. But she keeps arguing for something better. I must be using the wrong approach; she just said, between peals of laughter, “you are such a whiner!” I’ll try a different tact.

Happy Fourth of July Eve!

Two more photos added later …

  1. Wow — that’s a great shot (on the right) through the glass of the skyline. Are your glasses striated like that, or is that some trick of the light?

  2. Both. Those glasses have a very faint ring pattern that’s not normally visible, but that shot makes the pattern really stand out.

I added a couple more shots. That Tully’s factory is the place along I-5 (which is right behind the buildings from this angle) that used to be the Rainier brewery when I was growing up in Seattle. I’m still taken aback by the T instead of an R. And by the paint — it used to be rather drab.

  3. I remember seeing the brewery many years ago and was surprised to see the change when you and Megan got married. At least it’s still a local company?

    Happy fourth!
