Wednesday: arrive from Delhi, hotel room isn’t ready, wander around the neighborhood a bit enjoying the heat and humidity, meet with co-workers, take a nap, get really really sick.
Thursday: go to an all-day meeting, back to hotel to meet with co-workers, then even more sick, up most of the night.
Friday: go to Sibley Memorial Hospital emergency room (after calling Jamal’s cell to get a hospital recommendation but he didn’t answer and I called somebody else — that’s the mysterious 425-xxx-xxxx on 6/29), spend a few hours getting tests and saline fluids, go back to the hotel, crash
Saturday: meet with co-workers, then head over to the airport and go home

I had thought of trying to see Jamal, but the only way to get out of spending time with co-workers was this whole elaborate “I got sick in Delhi” story I’ve been telling. If only it weren’t true, I could have been out with Jamal Thursday or Friday evening!

Do you not have Mal’s contact info???? Did Megan not tell you how grand a host he is? With that extra bedroom?

ok–back in a month or so….been fun/thanks for having me.

We had several weeks of non-stop sunny weather around here, until I was in town and had some time off. Well, there was the matter of searching for a cat last weekend — those two days were quite nice, weather-wise.

Forecast says we’ll be back to summer come Monday …

I never heard it said that way, but I agree. The road system is great here, there are just too many people on it.

It’s been 4 years since I have visited that area.

I think that area has a great road system. Unfortunately Seattle outgrew it 15 years ago.

I have fond memories on my last trip being stuck in a traffic jam on the way to Ray’s Boathouse at 4:00PM (yes, 4:00PM) with a very pregnant wife.

P.S. We did make it to Ray’s but for a period of time I thought the nearest McDonalds was going to be our dinner.

P.S.S. Big Macs vs. Salmon is not something you want to think about.
