That 500 error is getting *really* annoying. The folks at Wordpress are having their annual Word Camp this weekend (we should have gone; seriously), so I’ll try to get an answer on Monday.
Meanwhile, I’m having fun tweaking PHP on various pages to get this working the way I’d like. I decided my old theme had too many changes to changes to changes and it was time to start anew. Nothing like the fresh-from-the-factory smell of a new theme with 0 miles on it.

Really, I don’t think it bothers anyone else very much — I just mentioned it so you’d have as many data points as possible. And I think the WordPress people vanish on the weekends quite a lot — I’ve tried to work on a client’s blog over the weekend before and been stymied by the virtual dark windows and locked doors at WordPress.
