I can just see it ... W standing by himself, drumming on the lectern. "This is guud ... Ah enjoy the solitaritude ..." (cue slight microphone feedback) "ECHO!" (echo) "ECHO!" (echo)

The story just gets better. President Bush addressed the "Major Economies Meeting on Energy Security and Climate Change" today: http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/09/28/bush.climate/index.html

Sounds like a big group. Another coalition of the willing. Except ... there was only one head of state present: George Bush.

Actually, it's not clear there were any other countries represented there at all. The article doesn't even mention other countries, except when it concedes that more than 150 countries have signed the Kyoto Protocol, which Bush had the US withdraw from.

First of all, I love how they changed it from global warming to "climate change." Like Taco Bell is now calling itself a "quick service" restaurant instead of "fast food." Changing what it's called seems to comfort people far more than any action to change the circumstances.

Anyhow, I sure hope they saved Bush's big "Mission Accomplished" banner from before -- she's going to need it in two years when she stands on the last remaining iceberg and declares the war won.
