Goodbye Chicago, Hello Atlanta

The Thanksgiving whirlwind tour continues …

Monday afternoon we took a walk around Evanston and Northwestern University, relived old times at the Keg (I went there a few times when Megan was in grade school), and went out to a spectacular dinner in Uptown with Scott and Larisa:

Then this morning we flew to Atlanta, where we’ve been hanging out with Granny, Marsha, and the dogs Andy and Daisy. I just realized I didn’t take any portraits of Daisy. But Andy’s so darn fun to torment it’s easy to forget she’s around, frankly.

Sorry about the lack of scrolling through the photos this week. I’m on vacation and feeling lazy.

  1. Your books arrived today for us and Scott and Jeff. It’s beautiful — from a professional standpoint I find it somewhat unsettling (they’re providing quite a nice end product), but from a personal standpoint I love having it.

Scott and Jeff, let’s see if we can’t go get ourselves a pumpkin latte or a turkey cappuccino sometime and I can bring you the books. Scheduling around the holidays being what it is, if we can’t get that going I can drop books off on your porches like a little (read: big fat lumbering) elf.

  2. Morning, Dougness,

I just can’t get enough of the alley pic–I want to see it in color again, please.

Speaking of the 6 foot posters, that has got to be a prime candidate, Hon. Might liven up that sad looking office of yours (or, set the tone for what being in it brings to mind???).

Your friends–such a lovely couple, and I do remember them from the wedding, including Gran’s comment. I want to go to Chicago–in the summer — ( have already done several winters with the rope to pull yourself across the street thing) because I am now seeing it through your lens and realized what all I’ve missed.

And how can I thank you enough for immortalizing my Andy (though I asked you not to post the deranged, rabid pics that you taunted him into posing for) into the appearance of a more insightful, deep thinking dog? Yes, we shall only call him Andrew from now on.

Forget Daisy. She’s useless as a model unless you start pimping prozac.

So! When are you two getting up, anyway? I’ve been up for hours and am ready to hit the road.
    Ok, one more cuppa, then.

Is your door locked? (heh heh heh)

  3. We’re up now, Marsha, rarin’ to go. It sure felt great to sleep in!

Hey Tom, glad to hear the books arrived. We’re expecting a couple to arrive here today — according to UPS, they’re on a truck in the neighborhood. But first, I must fight with Andy some more. What a dog.

  4. Go easy on him — he looks like he can hold his own, but you’re used to fighting 200 total pounds of malamute!

  5. Our book came today as well! Wow—what great pics.
The pigeon theme…is there a story behind that? (Of course there is)

I wish I wasn’t so low rent a traveler…would be nice to see all those images first hand.

And, GUIERLLERMO (GHEE AIR MO? sorry, Hon. I do have my disabilities)—smokin for real. The only named/known personage to make the book, and so well warranted, I must say.
Bated breath for the next issue…sigh.

Should do a video book—with Hubbard and Megan’s after party reels rollin on the cover. Or, I guess those might have to stay in-house forever, huh? Classics, straight up.
