  1. Believe it or not I love hiking locations like that. You’ll have to tell me where to find this trailhead.

  3. Sorry for the double comment. Your blog software told me there was an internal error, leading me to believe nothing had been posted!

  4. Tad, that error is something I’ve thrashed around with and never got fixed. I need a Wordpress/PHP person to help me out or something. Very annoying. And it’s always wrong: nothing’s lost, it just says so.

That trail is easy to get to: I-90 to North Bend, go into the center of town and turn right on the main drag (at Twede’s diner on the corner), go a mile or two and watch for a small standalone latte stand on the left. Turn left there, and you’ll see the sign after you cross the bridge for the Little Si trailhead. A little further down the same road is the Mount Si trailhead, where you can go up to the peak in the second and third photos.

I’d delete your dupe, but then our comments wouldn’t make sense.

  5. Doug…

…wishing you and your family merry christmas and sending the best wishes for 2008.

  6. Frohe Weihnachten, Thomas!

Man, I hope I got that right. :-)

  7. Completely right!

    Supa!

    How many other tongues?

  8. Unfortunately, that’s a good percentage of the German I know right there. I cheated … I heard it on NPR recently, and looked it up online to get the spelling right. ;-)

I know just enough French to understand simple sentences, and even less Spanish. Oh, but I just remembered another German word I know, that I learned from Lisa Simpson: schadenfrade. A fun word to know sometimes.

I wish I had grown up around more languages. Childhood is a good time for learning time-consuming things like languages.
