		<description>Ah, starlings.  Yes, I've heard they travel in big groups. :-)

Here's a video of &lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8eZJnbDHIg" rel="nofollow"&gt;a falcon repeatedly diving on a giant flock of starlings&lt;/a&gt;.  And I found pictures of some cool &lt;a href="http://epod.usra.edu/archive/epodviewer.php3?oid=309856" rel="nofollow"&gt;starling flocks in Denmark&lt;/a&gt;.</description>

		<description>No, I don't know what species they are, but I've seen the monster flocks too.  I forgot to get a closeup -- they were right there, but I was busy snapping pictures with the cats in them.</description>

		<description>Have you figured out what these birds are, especially the speckled ones?

I see these by the hundreds in monster flocks as Winter approaches.  They swirl around above our corner intersection and land on the lawns.  I feared for my late-Fall grass seeding, but they just wanted the bugs and worms.  They take fright easily (and en mass) but I have managed a few pictures since I started keeping my camera at my desk.  

I must make a space for my camera again, once I have removed all the other clutter, so I can catch returning birds and perhaps the neighborhood pair of bald eagles with my new 55-200mm zoomer.</description>
