Very spooky looking house you have there—a photo enhanced image, I assume (but, you never know)?

Thanks, Marsha! We were going to call you last night but suddenly it was quite late. We’ll call today.
Yes, the photo’s a little enhanced with HDR, but it was a spooky evening with a great stormy sky when the sun was going down.

Very cool! How are you bracketing these?

Hi, Nic. These are /- 2 f-stops, so three shots total. One thing that is different in this batch is that I started playing around with “white point,” “black point” and “gamma” settings. I’m not sure exactly what I changed, but I like what it did to the sky in the center photo.

That middle one begs for a name like “Portrait of Megan and Cats” or something. Beautiful light — that HDR stuff you’re doing is coming out great.

Jamal and I have talked about this camera the two of you have and all that can be done. I am so impressed– and the visuals are so entertaining, Doug (h). Really cool to see. You almost expect them to …do something.
Last night, I dreamed that I dug Tippy up and was surprised that her body hadn’t deteriorated in the least in the ensuing time since her death. she was so still pliable and soft and sweet smelling and eventually—started breathing again and within minutes was fully alive and prancing around. Great dream. I was so happy– although it freaked a few bystanders out–the whole pet cemetery thing, you know.
Your pictures sort of made me think of that.
Huh. ( I aslo dream weekly of Karlan’s coming back alive as well. Somewhat less frequently: Russell, Uncle Arthur and Francis. Sometimes, my dreams resemble a Thriller-esque broadway show, the so missed, family zombies shakin it loose, takin back the city…the strong drum beat…bits of grave dirt flyin off..
har har.)
Oh, yeah….Gran has already started asking me if I’ve heard from you or Meg (or Mol or Mal…sigh. O, the non-respondent grands…though I did speak with my son yesterday when I called for his help in car purchase negotiations. He is so good about crunching those numbers for me, he is. A good chap all around!). She gets anxious after a send and the acknowledgment of receipt wait time. I won’t tell her that you may call—but, she will appreciate it.
love, love (any birthday plans for next week? In town or out?),

I pruned that bush! Almost by myself. I’m so proud.
Aunt–I’m calling tomorrow. Really.
Been busy and sick, and suddenly it’s too late to call…. (I’m a loser, I know.)
Love you!

i need to prune my bush, too.
so, i’m sure you’re sick of people inviting themselves over… but since we haven’t been there in two years, q and i were thinking of using our 2 for 1 flight coupons to come see you. what do you think? they expire in september. if not, we’ll probably fly to idaho and go thrifting.
